As I have journeyed with individuals in a therapeutic setting, I have become increasingly aware of the inner pain and of what I call ‘the void’, that place that hurts in their lives. Simply being in the world has created this void. It may result from natural events in an individual’s life or from accidents; it may result from deliberate harm or even self-harm. The reasons are numerous and complex. This book explores and discovers your void and then explains how to deal with it and move forward in life. The Void came from the author's thinking and experience after twenty years of practice as a therapist. She embraces counselling models along with psychology and theology to bring together the insights found in the book.

The Void: We all bring ‘baggage’ from the past. By this I mean events that have shaped our thinking, responses and actions in every day life. For the most part we deal with difficult relationships and events in life, but some people realise that they have not been able to resolve certain situations. As a result, their everyday actions, emotions and feelings cause them difficulty in their daily life. If they are willing to discover why they feel, think, and act as they do and will consider finding the underlying cause, then this is the book for them.
